Halls Gap Zoo

Immerse yourself in all thing’s animals, an 8-minute drive from Breeze, you’ll find Victoria’s largest privately owned regional zoo. Halls Gap Zoo offers a great day out for the whole family; boasting large natural enclosures, you can get up closeand personal the residents. Who’s who in the zoo? Meet everyone from native Australian reptiles, mammals and marsupials to exotic primates and speedy cheetahs. Hold hands with an otter, have a red panda in your lap, hang out with a meerkat or give a rhino a scratch. You can make a day of it thanks to their ample picnic areas, and a well-stocked café. MOCO Gallery & Grampians Adventure Golf

Unleash your inner artist with a trip to the MOCO Gallery, a 4-minute drive from Breeze, MOCO is a unique contemporary art gallery, with regular exhibitions, residencies and a full programme of artist led workshops and classes. Their increasingly popular Canvas and Cocktails class is taught on Friday and Saturday evenings; build confidence and learn new skills as you harness your inner creativity whilst in a fun and social environment. While you enjoy the art at MOCO, why not let the kids have a bit of fun at Grampians Adventure Golf. Open 7 days during the Victorian school holidays (check the website for opening hours), challenge them to the 18-hole course which is like a mini version of the surrounding landscapes. Brambuk Cultural Centre

Brambuk is home to the longest-running cultural centre still operated by First Nations people, where you can explore and connect with their culture and traditions. Rich with First Nation artefacts & exhibits, there is a wealth of local history & stories to be discovered during your visit. As the first stop before exploring the Grampians National Park, it’s a great resource for tour information and must-do stops on your hikes.

 

Grampians National Park

Slip on your boots and head out to the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park for a day of exploration and wonder. A 9-minute drive from your Breeze basecamp, the Grampians are a sequence of five incredible sandstone ridges. The sandstone landscape is the result of lifting and tilting Earth movements over millions of years, creating the impressive valleys & peaks we see today. Between August and October, the park is blooming with a wonder of colour as spring wildflowers take over. Heathlands come alive with Blue Pin-cushion Lily, Grampians Boronia, and a multitude of other shrubs and herbs.

 

The national park is an adventure oasis; Lake Bellfield and Lake Wartook are great for fishing or canoeing. Mackenzie Falls and The Balconies are great for a challenging hike whilst the many slopes are a rock climber’s heaven. Soak up the indigenous history from rock art painting sites.
