Ratalang (Basham Beach) Conservation Park is a large park which links Middleton and Port Elliot along the foreshore. The Encounter Bikeway runs through Ratalang (Basham Beach) Conservation Park. During the winter, the stretch of water between Middleton and Port Elliot known as Fisherman Bay can host Southern Right Whales during the migration period.

It’s just a short drive away from the town centre, and while you’re here you’ll be able to look out over Goolwa, Middleton and Port Elliot. It has the best view of the bay. From here you’ll also get the best picture of how much land is still left untouched by suburban housing.

Horseshoe Bay is a protected swimming beach which is very popular with families during the summer holidays. You can fish from the Jetty, watch the kids play in the playground or go for a swim in this sheltered bay. Why not follow the rugged cliffs around the coast and explore the little bays and beaches.
