Where to Go & Things to Do
Venus Bath Walk
2.3km Circuit, 30 Minutes
Easy walking starting at the back of Breeze Halls Gap and finishing at the Halls Gap Botanical Gardens.
The Venus Baths are a popular destination known for the picturesque naturally formed rock pools and an easy walking trail. It’s a great spot for a refreshing dip during the warmer weather.
There is an accessibility track for all abilities from the Botanical Gardens.
Boroka Lookout
15km Drive, 200 Metre walk to viewing platform
Drive up Mt Difficult Road to reach Boroka Lookout. It’s a short stroll from the carpark to two viewing platforms that provide astonishing panoramic views over Halls Gap, Lake Bellfield and the eastern Grampians National Park.
Picnic tables and amenities are available, as well as the track being accessible for all abilities.
Hollow Mountain
35.4km Drive, 2.2km Return Walk
Suitable for fit and energetic walkers and can involve slippery track surfaces, rock hopping and rock scrambling. There are also a number of caves that you can explore on your way through.
Spectacular views over Mt Staplyton, Amphitheatre and the Wimmera Plains await.
Lake Bellfield Dam Walk
5km Walk or Drive
Take a leisurely stroll along the dam wall to the lake.
Swimming, boating, fishing and picnicking are all great ways to enjoy the lake area.
It includes an accessible track for all abilities.
Mackenzie Falls
18km Drive, 1km path to viewing area
One of the largest and most popular waterfalls in the Grampians National Park. Visitors can picnic in the grounds, enjoy amazing views from the observation deck, or take the 100 stairs down to the base of the waterfall.
Mackenzie are the only falls to have water all year round.
The track is accessible for all abilities to the viewing platform.
The Pinnacle
Drive or Walk options
The Grampians most iconic lookout and a must-do walk, it has 3 different stages of varying difficulties.
The easiest route starts at the Sundial Carpark and is a 4.2km return walk that will roughly take you 1.5-2 hours.
A more challenging route starts at the Wonderland Carpark and takes in the Grand Canyon, Silent Street and Echo Caves, taking you roughly 2-3 hours for a 4.2km return hike.
The most adventurous route starts at the base of the mountains in Halls Gap, and moves behind the botanical gardens. It then makes its way up the mountain for a 9.6km return hike that will take approximately 5-6 hours.
Whichever way you choose to get there, the view from The Pinnacle will astound you!
Heatherlie Quarry
14.5km Drive, 2.4km Walk
Walk around this easy loop, and see the amazing old stone cottages and quarry equipment. All steeped in incredible history, you can also see the original railway line tracks.
The Quarry supplied the sandstone for many Melbourne buildings. Including the Parliament House, Post Office on Elizabeth Street, Melbourne Museum and the Public Library.
Silverband Falls
7km Drive, 700 Metre Walk
Best for misty, moody mornings or sunset photos, capture the perfect snap of the pink and purple hues.
From Reed Lookout Car Park start an easy 2km walk to the Balconies viewing areas. You’ll be greeted by amazing views of Victoria Range, Serra Range, Lake Wartook and the Mt Difficult Ranges.
The Balconies offer panoramic views with unusual rock formations that stick out of the mountains.
The track is accessible for all abilities.
Beehive Falls
24km Drive, 2.8km Walk
A short walk from the carpark near Roses Gap Road.
One of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Grampians, you can enjoy the peace and tranquility. Climb over a few rocks to get closer to the waterfall, it will be well worth it.
The best time to visit is just after rain or during the springtime to enjoy the surrounding wildflowers.
