Culture Seekers

Is there anything more synonymous to the Queensland culture than Bundaberg Rum? Distilling since 1888, Bundaberg Rum has matured to be globally known and yet remains proudly a home-grown product. Rally the crew and head 15 minutes down the road for a distillery tour to see where all the magic happens. Looking for something a little more kid friendly? Just 4 minutes down the road from the distillery, the Bundaberg Barrel hosts a guided tasting of all the Bundaberg classics including ginger beer (non-alcoholic), sarsaparilla and passionfruit. Beer fanatics fear not - Ballistic Beer Co will quench that summer thirst with a curated range of craft beers brewed on-site. 18 minutes from Breeze you can sample the classic range favourites, the Reef Lager and Reef Red Ale, or widen your palette with their GABS Hottest 100 ranking brew, Hawaiian Haze. A quick 15 minute drive and you'll find one of the favoured local spots Tinaberries. For 15 years they have been growing incredible strawberries and they're known for having the best ice creams in town! And it's not just strawberries, they also grow passionfruit and have a macadamia tree nursery. It's a great day out for the kids and a chance to explore an incredible local business. Adventure Seekers

Turtle hatchling season is well underway during the Bargara summer – from November to March witness one of mother nature’s greatest feats. Learn about the unique journey of sea turtles and the incredible research being done at Mon Repos Turtle Centre, and hopefully spot a turtle! Just 11km from Breeze, Mon Repos is known to support the largest concentration of nesting sea turtles on the eastern mainland of Australia. Loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta) are the most prolific turtle you will find here, and the success of their nesting and hatching is critical to their survival in the wild. You can witness the ancient life cycle of the turtles as they make their way up the shore to lay their precious eggs or see the flight of the new hatchlings as they begin their new lives! Book now.

Wanting to venture under the water? A day trip out to Lady Musgrave Island is the perfect experience for you; one of the Great Barrier Reef’s most untouched islands with a protected lagoon stretching eight kilometres around Lady Musgrave. The crystal-clear waters of the lagoon are picture-perfect conditions for snorkelling. You’ll find creatures big and small - everything from colourful clown fish to reef sharks and sea turtles. You may even be lucky enough to spot a turtle hatchling as the island is also a well-known green and loggerhead turtle rookery. Book your island experience.

Relaxation Seekers

We cannot forget those who are heading to Bargara just to sit back, relax and enjoy the vibes. Breeze is perfectly positioned opposite the stunning Coral Sea, so you can just head straight to the beach & set up for a relaxing day beachside. We’ve got pedal kart, bike, kayak and stand-up paddle board hire all on site that can keep the kids entertained. On Friday nights we host pizza nights, whilst a variety of food trucks serve up delicious eats over the weekend. Just check in with reception during your stay for more details on our Events Calendar.
