Day 3 Visit the Katherine Hot Springs
There are many natural hot springs that can be found around the Katherine region, and a quick 13-minute drive will have you at the Katherine Hot Springs. What was once just an indentation on the edge of the Katherine River has turned into an area perfect for a scenic walk, having a swim, a little bit of relaxation, and a nice picnic. The natural thermal pools themselves comprise of a series of clear pools, surrounded by the native vegetation.
It’s a magical place to spend an afternoon.
Day 4 Cutta Cutta Caves Nature Park
Travel 29-minutes down the road to the Cutta Cutta Caves Nature Park. Explore the karst limestone landscape and the tropical woodlands. Formed millions of years ago, and still growing, these caves will take you 15 metres below the surface. Take a tour of the caves with the potential to witness some incredible wildlife including the rare Ghost and Horseshoe Bats and the endangered Gouldian Finch.
The only way to see the caves is through the guided tours and tours are seasonal, operating between April until the end of October. The caves are a tropical system therefore it is humid inside, if you do suffer from asthma, we recommend bringing your inhaler, remember that closed-in shoes are mandatory.

This area is known to have been continuously inhabited for more than 40,000 years, archaeological sites, rock carvings and cave paintings record the way of life and skills of the region’s traditional owners.
Kakadu is a unique example of a complex ecosystem, as well as being a habitat to rare and endemic species of plants and wildlife. All of this is the reason it was Heritage listed in 1981 and Kakadu’s ancient landscapes remain protected to this day.
